About Up North lit

Up North Lit is currently partnering with Breck School's Community Engagement programs, in collaboration with Up North Lit founders and editors Jacob Lindberg and Steven Fruehauf.

WHAT IS UP NORTH LIT?

At its core, Up North Lit is a web-based literary journal seeking to showcase the very best creative work of emerging and established writers and artists in the Midwest. Our mission is to bring the work of high school students into conversation with the work of experienced writers and artists at any point of their career and see what new discussions, perspectives, and ideas are formed. All in all, we devote the majority of our journal to the work of high school students, with a small portion kept for writers and artists of all ages and steps in their careers. 

COMMITMENT TO YOUNG WRITERS AND ARTISTS

For an area so ripe with creative potential, it's unfortunate there has been little opportunity for high school students to showcase their fiction, non-fiction, poetry, photography, and art. As an organization, Up North Lit is committed to providing a space for students to publish creative work.
