kore

This piece is inspired by the myth of Kore (or Persephone.) Not Hades and Kore, or Demeter and Kore. Kore eating the pomegranate seeds that doom her to six months in the underworld is the first and only time she makes a decision out of her own volition in the myth. She, literally and metaphorically, takes matters into her own hands. By doing so, she becomes Queen of the Underworld and of all the wealth found beneath the Earth.
